Welcome to your exercise resource if you are undergoing Androgen Deprivation Therapy (ADT). Our goal is to translate evidence based research into practice in order to refine the results of the research into a program that is accessible to everyone that needs it .
We are here to help you get into the right type of exercise prescription (ExRx) for PCS on ADT as quickly as we can. You can choose to try our free, self guided program or work with a virtual personal trainer.

We know that everyone approaches exercise in their own way. Science has shown that having a coach improves the effectiveness of a program. But we also know that many people like to workout on their own or in small group classes. That is why we have the option of you picking your exercise itinerary so to speak.
Exercise medicine is quickly becoming more than an adjunct to treatment as emerging research shows that it should be an essential part of treatment plans where there are no contraindications to exercise.
Research also shows that you will be more consistent in your workouts when you meet your trainer online. This reduces the session cost and gives most people easy access to a guided workout. Consistency is key to getting the desired result you need, our online format will ensure you have access to consistent workouts with the right intensity.

SMALL GROUP
WITH A CERTIFIED VIRTUAL GROUP INSTRUCTOR
We often find that there is a natural competitiveness to working out with others. This can be a great motivator to increase your intensity appropriately to get the best results out of our program.
If you feel that the small group format is the best fit for you then we have a group that we can place you in. Our small group program places you with a group from 4-6 men who are in a similar phase of treatment as you are.
PERSONAL FIT PLANS
WITH A CERTIFIED PERSONAL TRAINER
Many people like to workout at their own pace and on their own time. Personal Fit Plans are a great way to give you complete flexibility.
Once you have completed your consultation and assessment, you will have a 30 minute 1-on- 1 session with your instructor who will record their own live stream for you to repeat for as long as you like. Simply contact the instructor when you are ready for your next workout.
It’s simple, inexpensive, personalized and very effective in getting you into the right program for your level of fitness and current lifestyle.

Your Exercise as Medicine begins with a virtual assessment. We will need to review mobility, cardiovascular health and overall strength and conditioning before we start your program. Virtual assessments have been proven to be a safe and effective means of evaluation.
PRESCRIPTION
Our goal is to put you on the Impact + Resistance program for ADT but many clients will need to address priority issues before getting there. During the consult and assessment we will begin to form your initial exercise prescription.

Start your virtual personal training experience with myself or my partner and wife, Rachel. After we have a good understanding of your needs, goals and schedule, we will write your exercise prescription.
Your success is our success. We want to provide you with the best training for you treatment plan. We are going to do our best to motivate you and keep you consistent in your training schedule.
Virtual Personal Training has been proven to be more effective than in-person coaching for rural adults by the Veterans Association. Their research shows that clients are more consistent with their workouts when they don’t have to travel to meet their trainer. Just like with any fitness program, consistency is key. We will make sure that you have a primary instructor as well as a back-up who can fill in when we need to ensure your consistency.

There is a whole body of research avaible that shows that impact and resistance training will reduce your risk of disability during your treatment as well as increase the effectiveness of the treatment itself. Exercise as medicine is a concept created by doctors to show that resistance training, aerobic exercise and impact workouts can be just as effective as a prescribed medicine.

Impact + Resistance Training
POWIR4ADT utilizes 9 specific exercises that research shows to prevent disability in PCS on ADT. We start with bodyweight exercise and progress to resistance bands in order to achieve the results research shows possible.
MOBILITY & BALANCE
Before we begin any program we like to ensure that we have brought balance to the musculature of your body and that there is no limitation to your mobility. This guarantees quick results as we increase intensity and get you inot your prescribed exercise program.
PRIORITY ISSUES
We always have to start with what is most important in achieving your ultimate goal, this means addressing priority issues before managing the effects of ADT. Whether it’s weight loss, managing blood pressure or cholesterol or overcoming injury, we will make sure that your exercise prescription is right for you.
WHAT YOU NEED
30 MINUTES & AN INTERNET CONNECTION
30 Minutes
Science shows that just 30 mintues of low itensity exercise daily can improve your health considerably. In fact a meta analysis of multiple studies concluded, “even small improvements in physical fitness are associated with a significant reduction in risk {of premature death}” (Health benefits of physical activity: the evidence CMAJ. 2006 Mar 14; 174(6): 801–809.)
We like to go above and beyond. We start you at an intensity that you are comfortable with and move you up in intensity to new levels of fitness as you adapt to the exercises. What may seem like an impossible task ahead becomes very easy when you start with incremental gains. It doesn’t have to be painful, start at a comfortable pace and move as fast as you’re comfortable with.
Internet Connection
Our sessions are interactive. Any camera on a phone, tablet or computer will work. It’s very similar to a Zoom meeting or Facetime call. We have our own scheduling system to schedule your interactive virtual personal training appointment. You can see how many sessions you have completed, how many you have left and your upcoming schedule. You will have access to the recorded sessions, provided privately to only you, from the same app. Your entire personal training studio is in one little app that only needs an internet connection with download speeds of 12mbps or better and an upload of 4 mbps or better.
Equipment
We have mastered bodyweight workouts. Our virtual personal trainers will often start your program exclusively with bodyweight exercises. We do this because it is hard to move weights if you are unable to move your own bodyweight effectively.
If you have equipment, we will be happy to incorporate it when your virtual personal trainer and you decide it is appropriate in achieving your health and fitness goals.
If there is any equipment we recommend it is a good, slightly firm exercise mat and to keep you consistent and mobile, exercise bands when the time is right. They are great for increasing strength and protecting joints, plus, they are very inexpensive and portable.

Get 4 thirty minute Virtual Personal Training Sessions each month. We record each session for you to repeat the workout 2 or 3 more times before our next appointment. Access to Nutrition App.
Personal Training 8-Monthly Pass
Get 8 thirty minute Virtual Personal Training Sessions each month. We record each session for you to repeat the workout 1 or 2 more times before our next appointment. Access to Nutrition App.
Personal Training 12-Monthly Pass
Get 12 thirty minute Virtual Personal Training Sessions each month. We record sessions on request and do data tracking and analisys on daily activity. Access to Nutrition App.
1-Time Personal Training
Purchase a personal training session any time you like. All sessions are 30 minutes in length and can be recorded for you to repeat as many times as you like.
1ST TIME ASSESSMENT
Your first assessment will be about 45 minutes in length and will include a funcitional movement assessment, goal setting and an introduction to our nutrition app and data colleciton app.
FOLLOW UP ASSESSMENT
Have a check-in with a trainer, get another functional movement assessment and re-evaluate your progress and set new milestones based on your current achievements.
